First Time Customer Creates Hand Cast

Reynolds Advanced Materials – Last week, a first time customer visited our Charlotte branch wanting to create a hand casting using skin safe materials. Our staff member Chris discussed the application details with him, deciding that Smooth-On’s Alja-Safe® was a good starting point.

As this was to be a resin casting, Chris Smooth Cast 300Q because of its very fast “snap” cure, leaving no time for moisture issues.

Following the steps Chris mentioned, the casting came out great. The final piece was painted by the customer with a gold / bronze spray paint. He allowed us to share these results with you, and provided us with his step-by-step photos.
