Reynolds Supplies Materials to Mold 2500-Year-Old Artifacts

Published January 21, 2016

Reynolds Advanced Materials – Phoenix had the opportunity of a lifetime… to travel back 2500 years.

SWCA Environmental Consultants, unearthed a 2500-year-old archeological field system containing dozens of human footprints belonging to early agricultural farmers in Pima County in Tucson, Arizona.

SWCA contracted Michael Lee, of Leeway Arts, to determine the best way of conserving a sample of the find for curation at a federally-accredited museum facility.

Michael reached out to Reynolds in search of material to mold sections of this unique and unprecedented discovery. He ended up using Smooth-On’s Mold Max® 30 silicone rubber.

Our Edmonton Reynolds Advanced Materials branch will permanently close June 11th. We’re grateful for your support during our time in Canada and look forward to continuing to serve you through
other Canadian distributors.
