Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East Recasts Antiquity

Published February 15, 2018

The giant plaster castings of ancient reliefs in the Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East are rejuvenated with the help of modern moldmaking materials

These fantastic castings are repaired by Harvard students, and silicone molds are made.  Into these molds, resin is cast to create a perfect reproduction.
