Preserving a dehydrated Tarantula is fast and easy with Encapso® K silicone encapsulation rubber. When cured, Encapso® K looks just like water and will last a long time. This Non-Hazardous – 2 part silicone rubber is easy to use, UV resistant and cures without generating any dangerous heat or fumes.

You Will Need: Encapso K, Mixing Sticks, Mixing Containers

Step 1: Preparing Model

Make a clear container slightly larger than the dehydrated Tarantula with acyclic tube and base. Then place and center the Tarantula in the container.

Step 2: Applying Encapso K

Measure equal amounts of Part A and Part B, by volume. Then, combine Encapso® K Parts A and B in a container and mix thoroughly. Since the Tarantula will float, pour a small amount of Encapso® K into the container covering ½ of the legs and the lower section of the body only.

Allowed Encapso® K to cure to a 'gel' state, approximately 1.5 hours before continuing. Measure and mix a second batch of material. Slowly pour to the lowest point of the container. Allow the liquid to flow around the Tarantula covering the highest point by ½ inch. Any residual bubbles on the surface will dissipate. Allow the Encapso® K to cure overnight.

Step 3: Finished Display Piece

When cured, the water clear Encapso® K allows viewer to see every aspect of the Tarantula.
