Customer Spotlight – Composite Effects
Posted on 7/25/2014
Composite Effects (CFX) is a multi-media company and long-time customer of Reynolds Dallas specializing in silicone masks, prop fabrication and theatrical effects.
Founded in 2006 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by Wes Branton and Ken Decker, CFX started as a handful of workers solely catering to the local film and national haunted attraction industry. Production companies, resorts and theme parks, and individual collectors showed a growing demand for effects and props, especially CFX Pro Silicone Masks. With a talented and creative group of artists and a true “DIY” attitude, CFX saw the increase in demand as a welcome challenge, and an opportunity to innovate within the industry.
Over the years CFX has grown to be the most recognizable name in silicone masks, and has built an impressive résumé including work on such movies as 2 Guns (Universal Pictures) and licensing deals with Game of Thrones and more in the works. What was once a two-man operation now employs over 30 skilled workers in a multi-suite studio, and continues to grow. CFX also recognizes the importance of art in the community, and has worked with such local organizations as the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and the Louisiana International Film Festival to organize events supporting and promoting the arts.
Never resting on their laurels, CFX continues to look to the future, discovering new ways to innovate the industry of silicone production and prop manufacturing. With their patent pending Duraflex technology, they added durability to their silicone products without sacrificing flexibility or realism. They continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, finding new ways to transform you into the creature you’ve always wanted to be. CFX can handle anything from the smallest, most detailed prop, to a huge fabrication job, and they have a skilled and helpful customer service team that works directly with the production staff to make your imagination a physical reality.
