NOVOCS™ is a low viscosity silicone solvent that evaporates quickly.  NOVOCS™ will lower the viscosity of Smooth-On silicone rubbers and contains no VOC’s.  NOVOCS™ is particulary useful in thinning down Psycho Paint® silicone paint base to apply via brush or airbrush to cured platinum silicone rubber props and prosthetics.

WARNING - FLAMMABLE Liquid and vapor.  Keep away from ignition sources and follow precautions for handling flammables.

NOVOCS™ offers the following advantages:

• A lower mixed viscosity (A+B) means that the rubber will de-air faster when vacuuming.
• Mixed rubber (A+B) will flow better over intricate model detail.
• Pot life (working time) is increased in proportion to the amount of NOVOCS™ used
  

Disadvantage: Ultimate shrinkage of the rubber is increased in proportion to the amount of NOVOCS™ added, however knotty tear properties of the Mold Max® series rubbers are unaffected.

Thickening agent for Smooth-On silicone rubber for vertical surface application (making brush-on molds). Different viscosities can be attained by varying the amount of THI-VEX™. THI-VEX™ is added as a small percentage of Part A and must be thoroughly mixed with Parts A and B.

Silc Pig® silicone color pigments are used for coloring Smooth-On's silicone rubber compounds including Mold Max® translucent ‘T' Series, Dragon Skin® and Ecoflex® rubbers. Silc Pig® pigments also are also used to create mind blowing skin effects with systems such as Psycho Paint® and Skin Tite®.

Cryptolyte™ is a translucent liquid additive that causes cured Smooth-On silicone rubbers, urethane rubbers, plastics or foams to glow a bright blue under a focused ultra violet light source (blacklight). You will not see the glow effect without an UV light source. When mixed at low percentages it will not affect clarity or color of material. For example, Cryptolyte™ can be added to Crystal Clear™ water clear resins and the glow effect will not be evident until the casting is illuminated by a UV light source.

Important: Best “glow” effect is realized when Cryptolyte™ is added to clear (i.e. Sorta Clear silicone or Clear Flex urethane rubber) or translucent materials (i.e. Smooth-Cast 325 resin). Applications include special effects, Halloween mask and prop making, theme displays and security (you can make parts that are virtually undetectable in normal light but glow under UV black lighting).

The Ignite™ line of liquid fluorescent colorants is compatible with Smooth-On urethane rubbers, urethane plastics, urethane foams (rigid and flexible) and silicones. The fluorescent or "glow" effect is maximized under ultra-violet light or "black light." The most dramatic color effect is realized when an Ignite colorant is used with a clear or translucent urethane rubber (such as Clear Flex 50) or plastic (such as Smooth-Cast 325).

What Makes Castings Made With Ignite™ Pigments Appear To Glow? When you add Ignite fluorescent color to a urethane material, more ultraviolet light from the cured material is visible to your eye vs. castings made with SO Strong™ colorants. The casting appears brighter in ambient light and appears to glow under ultraviolet light.

Silicone Thinner offers the following advantages:

• A lower mixed viscosity (A+B) means that the rubber will de-air faster when vacuuming.
• Mixed rubber (A+B) will flow better over intricate model detail.
• Silicone Thinner will lower the ultimate shore hardness (durometer) of cured silicone rubber.
• Pot life (working time) is increased in proportion to the amount of Silicone Thinner used.

Disadvantage: Ultimate tear and tensile strength are reduced in proportion to the amount of Silicone Thinner added, however knotty tear properties of the Mold Maxtm series rubbers are unaffected

Sil-Poxy© is a one component adhesive made specifically for bonding RTV silicone rubber to silicone rubber and other substrates including some plastics (urethane), plasters/ceramics, fabrics, etc. Sil-Poxy© will work with tin or platinum-cure silicones and provides a strong, flexible bond between silicone parts with high elongation. Sil-Poxy© can be used repairing torn silicone rubber molds. Other applications include bonding silicone for prosthetics and animatronics.
